Friday, April 26th:
- Birds & More 4pm-5pm. Mohican State Park Lodge/Resort; Lobby. The Mohican Lodge offers some of the most spectacular birding. From Eagles to loons to woodpeckers, take a short hike along a paved path for a wonderful start to the weekend. Path is less than 1 mile. Bring binoculars or borrow them from us!
- Bats in the Mohican Forest with Merrill Tawse 8:30pm. Covered Bridge Area of the Mohican Forest. Watch bats captured, banded, recorded and released. Dress for the weather. Program will be presented weather permitting (low temperature, high wind, and/or rain/snow will cause cancellation).
Saturday, April 27th:
- Fly-fishing and Fly-tying Demonstration 10am-12pm. Presented by Mohican Fly Fishing Club. Meet at the Covered Bridge river access.
- Mill and Cabin Tours 12pm-5pm. Wolf Creek/Pine Grist Mill. Come see an 1831 operating grist mill in action. Tour the mill & early 1800s log cabins and get a glimpse of what life was like in pioneer times when Ohio was the new Wild frontier. (A $1.00 donation per day, per person is charged to everyone who enters the Grist Mill grounds, for all activities for the weekend. Age 10 and under are admitted free.)
- Nature Oriented Scavenger Hunt 12pm-5pm. Wolf Creek/Pine Run Grist Mill. Hike our 3/4 mile loop trail on the ridge above the mill. Gather items at stations along one of Mohican steepest trails. Relax on the overlook deck and take some great pictures from its view point. Then kids turn in your scavenger items in our Welcome Center for a prize. (A $1.00 donation per day, per person is charged to everyone who enters the Grist Mill grounds, for all activities for the weekend. Age 10 and under are admitted free.)
- River Walk: In Search of Aquatic Insects 1pm-2pm. Mohican State Park Campground/Class A Shelter. Dress for wading in the river.
- Dragonfly Hunt: Naiads in Jet Propulsion 2:30pm-3:30pm. Mohican State Park Campground/Class A Shelter. Take a closer look at dragonfly naiad stunts followed by a hike.
- Columbus Zoo Program: “The animals that travel with Jack Hanna” 3pm-4pm. Wolf Creek/Pine Run Grist Mill. The Columbus Zoo will present a program that will give you the opportunity to learn about the animals that travel with Jack Hanna. Discover where they're from, what they eat, and possibly touch the birds, reptiles, and a variety of mammals. (A $1.00 donation per day, per person is charged to everyone who enters the Grist Mill grounds, for all activities for the weekend. Age 10 and under are admitted free.)
- Bug Eating 5pm-6pm. Mohican State Park Lodge/Resort Lobby. While eating insects is not rare throughout the world, it is unusual in Ohio. Find out why some people think eating insects can help the world. Samples and recipes will be available. Warning: could be gross!
- Bird of Prey Show 7pm. Mohican State Park Resort. Enjoy an up close experience with a variety of Ohio’s bird species. A 30 minute presentation that is fun and educational.
Sunday, April 28th:
- Dragonfly Crafts 10am-11:30am. Mohican State Park Lodge/Resort Lobby. Create your own dragonfly. These are fun, simple projects to do while enjoying the views from the lodge.

- Wildflowers & More 2pm-4pm. Hemlock Gorge Trail/ Meet at the end of B Camp located at The Covered Bridge area; drive through the picnic area. Mohican offers some of the best flora and fauna in the state. This is a two mile hike and will be muddy. A shuttle will take us back to the start. You may want to bring or borrow binoculars. Warning: sure to be inspiring!
